Maddy Johnson, 10, was a member of the Wasco Diamonds, which won the Chicagoland ASA Metro 10 and Under Class A Championship in Joliet for a berth to the nationals in Joliet. The Diamonds played 10 championship games and won eight of them. The team was ranked No. 1 in Illinois in Triple USSA 10 and Under Class A. The team played in the Nationals tournament in Auburn, Ala., from July 30-Aug. 6. Johnson is the daughter of Doug Johnson and Flo Johnson.
