School district, union reach tentative agreement
The 411-member DeKalb Classroom Teachers Association and the DeKalb School Board reached a tentative collective bargaining agreement early Wednesday, just hours after the union's two-year contract expired.

City workers' contract talks to be mediated
A mediator will meet later this month with DeKalb and union officials in hopes of hammering out a new contract for more than 200 city employees.

Ill. House approves rewrites from gov.
SPRINGFIELD  - The Illinois House on Wednesday approved new versions of legislation that Gov. Rod Blagojevich had rewritten to cut taxes for disabled veterans and lower insurance costs for college students.
