Bouquet - While Northern Illinois University student Matt Konfirst is analyzing Antarctic core samples in Germany, fellow NIU student Shari Meggs will be teaching the English language to students in Hong Kong. The two have been granted fellowships through the U.S. Student Fulbright Program, which was established in 1946 and is named for late U.S. Sen. J. William Fulbright. The government program is intended to facilitate cultural understanding through teaching, studying, researching and exchanging ideas with people in other countries. Congratulations to these two ambitious, bright NIU students who are a perfect fit for the competitive program.
