DeKALB - A move by aldermen to reconsider two new tax measures was voted down by a split vote at Monday night's city council meeting.

NIU, KC to receive $50,000 grants for campus security

The 23-year Cortland resident and former Union Pacific engineer hopes to have the many railroad artifacts he's collected ready for people to view by the end of summer. Richards worked the rails for 40 years - sometimes seven days a week and always heading west from Chicago -until he retired in October.
