Editor's note: John Pfeifer, publisher of the Chronicle News Group, traveled to Blacksburg, Va., to attend today's memorial services for 32 people killed in the April 16, 2007, shootings on the Virginia Tech campus. He first spoke with Larry Hincker the afternoon of Feb. 15 when Hincker worked with Virginia Tech President Charles Steger to write a letter of support to the NIU/DeKalb community. The letter appeared in the Daily Chronicle the following day.
